Is it time to care for yourself?

Hi!  Congrats, you took the first step in navigating the importance of finding help.  Therapy is much more than just "feeling better."  It is about the process of understanding how you think, how you feel, and how you can discover the resiliency you have within yourself.

As a therapist it is always an honor to have my clients place their trust in me as I watch them grow.  Growth starts with being vulnerable, honest and willing to change, even small changes are a win!  It is about time you took care of yourself.

Our Process

Step 1

The first session is always the "get to know you" session or assessment session.  This allows me to understand your history, what concerns are arising for you in your life, as well as some goals you would like to work on and achieve.

For my minor clients (under 18), I prefer to have two separate sessions. The first session with the parents/guardians and the second session with the minor.

This allows me to fully understand the minor's background and family as well as allow both the parent/guardian and minor to have a safe space to openly discuss their concerns.

Step 2

We will start working together by tackling and understanding specific needs to help you start on your journey and begin to grow.

I often will use different approaches including CBT, DBT, art therapy and mindfulness practices.  I try to tailor sessions to the specific needs of each individual client.

Step 3

Ideally, weekly sessions are scheduled at least for the first few months which will allow more opportunities for growth and change.

We will continue to work together and celebrate the wins, big and small.  I will be with you every step of the way.

In our culture, we associate vulnerability with emotions we want to avoid such as fear, shame, and uncertainty. Yet we too often lose sight of the fact that vulnerability is also the birthplace of joy, belonging, creativity, authenticity, and love.
